Probate records [microform], 1871-1890.

Probate records can be one or more of the following: wills, order books, appraisements, inventories and settlements. They are filed in the county court generally at the time the death occurred. There may be indexes to the probate records available. Administrator and executor bonds show the name of the executor or administrator appointed by the deceased, and usually show the relationship to the deceased. If not appointed by a will, the court appoints an administrator. A guardian is appointed for any minor children.
